The feeling of Peter and Mary

Please send me information about your stair lifts

What will your stairlift look like?

Peter & Mary Walker: Happiness at high age.

Sometimes we can hardly believe it ourselves, but it's true: we have been happily married for over 40 years now. Nowadays that's a rare situation! Of course we had our off days, but we managed to overcome them together. And when we encountered real problems we discussed them together in a way to search for the best solution.

Maybe because we never built unnecessary dream castles. We didn't need a cruise to the Caribbean or expensive juwelry. We got more joy from the smaller things in life. Like nice get togethers with friends, the sunday tea club, or drinking a good glass of wine with the neighbours. And last but not least our family. The twinkling eyes of our daughter when she got Kevin. The first schoolday of our grandson. These are with certainty moments Peter and I will never forget.

"Carpe diem", like the old Romans already said. Seize the day, as long as you can! As already mentioned, happiness is closer by than you might guess at first. In the own garden, a walk in the garden, a day trip with family. And when we do need technical tools (like stairlifts or platform lifts), that can support us to stay happy and on the move, why not?

"Family - our greatest gift"

Today the Walkers will have a 'family day'. They're expecting their daughter Rita with her husband Chris accompanied by his mother Julia. And of course they'll bring along Kevin and Josephine, their grandchildren!

It is nearly 9 o'clock. The family should arrive any minute. "Oh dear!" Peter discovers a spot on his tie. "Some egg from the breakfast?" No problem! He goes to his ThyssenKrupp Stairlift and rides up to the first floor. He chooses another tie in the bedroom and quickly rides down again.

The bell rings! Good lord - Kevin nearly runs down his grandpa. He is very excited because he had his birthday two days ago and of course he is expecting a present. It's a genuine leather ball. He had wanted it for months! And even more: his grandparents also have another surprise for him - a shirt with the label of his favourite soccer club.

The secret of our 'youth': always keep the ball rolling

Kevin is more than lucky. He hugs grandma and grandpa a great deal. "Come on - let's try the ball", Peter proposes. Kevin doesnt hesitate a minute. Soon Peter is throwing the ball and Kevin shoots it back - just like he watched it on TV. "Dear me! You're already shooting like a soccer pro!" Peter praises his grandson.

Meanwhile Mary laid out the coffee-table. She is rather 'famous' for her strawberry-cake. But she also remembered that her son-in-law, Chris, favours cheese-cake. She goes to the Stairlift, rides down to the cellar and gets the plates with the various cakes.

Julia is watching, while Mary is easily overcoming the stair on her own: "I'm always impressed how easy and safe such a stairlift is working."

Steep stairs are an obstacle for her too. Since her stroke three years ago she is using a walking support. Back then she had been in a recovery-clinic for nearly two months. During all this time mainly one thought was in her mind: "What about my appartment with the great view if I can't climb the stairs any longer?"

The solution: A stair lift of her own

Her son Chris calmed her down: "Don't worry Mom, I've got an idea...."

Big surprise! As Julia came back home she nearly couldn't believe her eyes: Chris really had built in a space saving ThyssenKrupp Stairlift. Life could go on as before. Each of the two families has its own apartment where she can live undisturbed. At first Chris had considered a 'real' lift, but the Stairlift could be installed much quicker.

Now Julia can leave her 2nd floor apartment each day to go shopping or have a chat at the bakery - without being dependent on other people. Even with her shopping bag she can go upstairs or bring the garbage downstairs. Maybe later on a home elevator shall be installed at the outside of the house. They already have an offer - also from ThyssenKrupp.

Without stairclimbing - without help from others.

Oh yes - the stairs!

Also Ritas' parents had problems with their stair. Mary was worrying about her husband. Peter seemed to have increasingly problems with climbing the stairs. And he didn't want to be helped by his wife constantly. The result was that he stayed in his office upstairs and nearly ever came down.

What should she do? Have a second bathroom installed on the ground floor? Or even move completely - leaving the beloved home?

The daughter had the idea with the ThyssenKrupp Stair lift.

At first Mary and Peter were rather sceptical. Should that work? Don't we need major building alterations? Of course they also protested a bit: "We still can walk alright. It's only for the stairs...." But Rita had already gotten all information she needed and in the end she could convince her parents of the advantages of a ThyssenKrupp Stair lift.

It was a good decision!

Today Mary and Peter don't want to miss their ThyssenKrupp Stairlift. It gives them personal freedom, mobility and a great deal of safety. Before the installation of the Stairlift Rita often worried that her parents might fall down the stairs. These worries are no longer there.

The ThyssenKrupp Stair lift has been installed within few hours.

Due to their 'one-rail-system' ThyssenKrupp stairlifts are extremely space saving. Even better: the stairlift has been customized for their stair by the ThyssenKrupp-Employees. Typical for ThyssenKrupp quality!

Today Mary and Peter are very happy in their own home again. And that is due to the stair lift, a product of the globally acting company ThyssenKrupp. This product guarantees that they can live their own life - independent and self-determined even at a high age.

It's easy to 'ride the stairs'.

Easy and safe.

Riding the stairs with a ThyssenKrupp Stairlift is easy and convenient. Just sit down, push the lever at the armrest a little bit and your ThyssenKrupp Stairlift starts moving. Slowly, regularly and without 'jerking' he 'floats' to the desired point. If you let loose of the button during the ride, the ThyssenKrupp stairlift will stop automatically. If you push the lever again, it continues to move.

'Safety' is a big item for us.

If anything (like a suitcase or anything else) blocks the driveway, the ThyssenKrupp Stairlift stops automatically. His sensors notice any obstacles and stop the stair lift.

The 'one-rail-system'.

Space saving and flexible: these are the main features of the ThyssenKrupp Stair lift. And with his 'one-rail-system' - developed by ThyssenKrupp - he can climb upward gradients of up to 70 %. This multiplies the flexibility of the Stairlift and helps connect various floor types.

Moreover - due to the 'one-rail-system' the Stair lift is rather a 'space miracle'. It does not need a hinge rail and leaves lots of space even on small stairs.

Only half a day for the installation of the ThyssenKrupp Stair lift!

The question nearly everybody asks: how much dirt and noise would such an installation bring along? We reassure you: the ThyssenKrupp Stairlift is being installed completely within a few hours - clean and smooth.

Due to sophisticated technology our ThyssenKrupp Stairlift is a self-supporting system. Therefore he is even much easier to install than most stair-railings. He is just being set on the stair. Walls and railings remain untouched. Only a few screws are necessary to fix it in such a way that he can transport more than 120 kgs.

Our specialist needs roughly half a day to install the stair lift, make a first test-run and explain the handling to you.

Confidentially: Have a personal consultation!

Each stair ist different.

That's the reason why individual, personal consultation is important. Just call us or send us the enclosed card and we will fix an appointment with you. If you like our specialist will have a look at your stair and and answer all your questions.

  • How would your personal stair lift look like?
  • What would custom-made production cost?
  • What about service and maintenance?
  • Perhaps a vertical lift might be the solution?
